Article 6 — Membership

Membership of the Community is open to any person aged 13 years or older who supports
the purposes and Founding Principles of the Community, agrees to abide by this
Constitution and the Community’s Code of Conduct, and completes the membership
registration process as prescribed by the Executive.
Persons under the age of 18 may join the Community subject to the Community
implementing reasonable mechanisms to verify parental or legal guardian consent where
required by the laws of the member’s country of residence. The Executive shall adopt
procedures designed to meet this obligation proportionately as the Community develops.

2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 6.2 Membership Tiers
The Community operates a tiered membership structure. The Executive shall have authority
to introduce, amend, or discontinue membership tiers (other than the Free Tier, which is
immutable per Article 4, Principle I), provided that:
• The Free Tier shall always exist and shall provide at minimum access to the
Community’s main spaces and basic membership rights;
• Any paid tier shall offer tangible benefits above and beyond those available on the
Free Tier;

3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 • Membership fees, if any, shall be set and reviewed annually by the Executive and
communicated to members no less than 30 days before taking effect;
• No member shall be compelled to upgrade from the Free Tier as a condition of
continuing their membership;
• All membership tiers carry equal voting rights, subject to the eligibility requirements in
Article 7.

4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 6.3 Membership Rights
All members in good standing, regardless of membership tier, shall be entitled to:
• One vote in elections and referendums conducted under this Constitution, subject to
the eligibility thresholds set out in Article 7;
• Participation in the Community’s spaces and activities appropriate to their
membership tier;
• Access to Community communications and updates;
• Stand for election to the Executive (subject to eligibility criteria in Article 9);
• Be considered for appointment as a Community Manager (subject to Article 11);
• Raise concerns, complaints, or suggestions through the processes set out in this
Constitution.

5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 6.4 Membership Fees
The Executive may, at its discretion, introduce, waive, reduce, or vary membership fees for
paid tiers. Any decision to introduce or materially increase fees shall be communicated to
affected members at least 30 days in advance. The Free Tier shall never carry a fee.

6 Leave a comment on paragraph 6 0 6.5 Termination of Membership
A member’s membership shall be terminated in the following circumstances:
• Voluntary resignation by written notice to the Community;
• Failure to renew a paid membership tier (such member shall automatically revert to
Free Tier rather than losing membership entirely, unless they expressly resign);
• Removal by resolution of the Executive for conduct seriously contrary to this
Constitution, the Community’s Code of Conduct, or conduct likely to bring the
Community into disrepute, subject to the procedures in Article 18.

7 Leave a comment on paragraph 7 0 6.6 Register of Members
The Executive shall maintain a register of members. The register shall record the name,
contact details, membership tier, date of joining, and standing of each member, and shall be
maintained securely in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. Members’
personal data shall not be shared with third parties without their consent, except where
required by law.
